|Recurring Course (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00pm on Thursday, repeating until August 15, 2019

watercolor class

Enjoy the experience of watercolor painting on location in the beauty of a National Park! The Presidio in San Francisco is a unique combination of wild splendor and multi-cultural history. Watercolors are the perfect medium to easily carry and capture the diversity of this iconic National Park. We will paint a winding forest path, sit by the bay and watercolor sketch the view, and enjoy painting from a porch in Fort Scott. Nature and architecture will be our subjects. This class will focus on composition, the color of light and shadow, and value use. Students provide their own materials and must be familiar with watercolor painting, and have competent drawing skills. We will be walking various distances over uneven terrain, both dirt and paved paths, as well as stairs. You must be comfortable carrying all your supplies (no rolling carts). This class is for intermediate and advanced students only.
